Home Sweet Home

It's been a busy-busy time, but I've managed to get some work done.
I've finally scanned these drawings added them to my shop on Etsy.

More in this style are coming!

Birds and Ladies

Going through my scrapbooks and sketchbooks, I discovered several pieces which were laid aside once, for I did not quite know what I should do with them. Now, I believe, I have found a desicion.
Now I plan to geth these pieces printed as bookmarks, and once the main idea has been established, all kinds of additional details have been springing up in my head. While I still have to decide on the final appearance of these, I've played with them in Photoshop a little, just to try out some raw ideas.

And here is one of my scrapbook pages, with no connection whatsoever with the pictures above. It's here just because I like it :)

That was a really slippery February...

Forest King's Wedding

Recently, we've been going away to bog and forest, escaping from civilization now and then (though not for very long).
These trips, short but rich in impressions, have given me a lot of visual material to relish, rework and transfer on paper. I hope to do more of forest/ nature/ faerie - themed art in forseeable future.

Seven Bird Spirits

Some time ago, Christina Cairns posted a fascinating legend of the Seven Bird Spirits
I found it really inspiring, and did an illustration in ink.

I've hardly ever drawn old people before, and I'm pleased with how this woman turned out.

It's Etsy time

This week I visited the printer's and got some sample prints of my drawings.

And then - (drums!) - I've opened a shop on Etsy.

I've listed six items so far.
Three prints of my technical pen drawings...

...and three sets of postcards featuring the watercolour pencil pieces.

I do hope this will work.

Paprika... Again

Now here is the second drawing of the same paprika piece. Unfortunately, it had not survived to model for the third one, because it withered fast and I was compelled to eat it. Then again, maybe it's about time to let go of the groceries :)
Maestro (my loved one, sculptor and mask-maker) said there was something hobbytish in it (a base revenge for commenting his last candlestick as : "Whoa, you're going elvish!"). I guess, that's really the case. I was feeling a bit disturbed when I was drawing this, so this is the result of my yearning for comfort and cosiness.

What do they put in vegetables these days!

The baby paprika I discovered inside a real one a couple of days ago had given me some ideas about what else may be found in there.
Perhaps, this?

I don't have a normally working scanner currently, so I just had to settle for the photographs.

Such a warm and cosy place to sleep, isn't it? Only a little bit damp, herhaps :)

I haven't been getting enough sleep recently, so this is the expression of my most cherished dream at the moment - just sleep for as long as I want.

Made a mess in the process.

The cats were helping, of course.

Practically guided me through the whole process.

Very helpful indeed.

I've got another picture in the process, but that one will have to wait a little bit.
Sleeeeep....
